TAJIK-TURKISH INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS FORUM

On October 13, 2021, within the framework of the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Turkey on Economic Cooperation, the Tajik-Turkish Industrial Business Forum was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Dushanbe.

The Forum was attended by representatives of ministries, state structures, development partners and  more than 100 companies and enterprises from various sectors of the economy of Tajikistan and Turkey, including industry, transport, logistics, mechanical engineering, food, agriculture, finance and banking, telecommunications, insurance and trade such as “Akia – Avesto”, “RA Medical A.S.”, “Tarim Gida Sogutma Sistemlary”, “AWCI Group Otomotiv”, “ LLC Agromia”, “Devrim Metal S.A.- Yektamak Makina Muhendislik”, “Coca Cola – beverages of Tajikistan”, “Zhongtai Danghara”, “Vahdat Textile”,  “La’al Textiles”, “TIKA”, “IFC” in hybrid format (offline and online).

The official part of the Forum was opened with a welcoming speech by the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey, Mr. Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sherali Kabir, Chairman of the Assembly of Exporters of Turkey (TIM ) Mr. Ismail Gule and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, Mr. Jumakhonzoda Jamshed, during which the participants were familiarized with the investment climate and the opportunities of both countries in various fields.

It was emphasized that in recent years, there has been an expansion of trade relations between the two countries, the basis of which is the political will of the leaders of the two countries, the strengthening of cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Turkey on Economic Cooperation and a number of important events held in a relatively short period, according to which the best conditions for constructive dialogue and  promotion of trade relations between the Tajik and Turkish business communities were created.

Then a bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs of the two countries took place in the “Entrepreneur with Entrepreneur” (B2B) format, at which commercial issues between representatives of the private sectors of both parties were discussed.

Participants of the Tajik-Turkish Industrial Business Forum highly appreciated the mutually beneficial opportunities and initiatives covering all areas of economic cooperation.

The business forum was organized by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey and the Council on Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey (DEIK). The event was supported by the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Tajikistan Competitiveness Enhancement Project, “Coca-Cola – Beverages of Tajikistan”, project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Tajikistan.
